The road to my current career began with the engagement of my daughter in 1998. She and her fiancee were living here in South Jersey, while her father and I were living in the D.C. area where I had lived all my life. She wanted her dream wedding there, and she wanted me to handle all the details. She told me what she wanted, and what she got was everything she had dreamed of and more - a fairy tale/Disney-themed wedding, right down to the castle on the invitations and glass castle on the wedding cake.

What I learned from planning her entire wedding was that although I had a wonderful time and it turned out great, I would have enjoyed her wedding more myself if someone else had done the work, specifically a professional wedding consultant. And I had no idea how much of my time it would take!

My company is named “Your Wedding Your Way” because that is my philosophy as a wedding consultant. I’ve watched all the TV shows about wedding planners, and it seems to me that in most cases they plan a wedding their way rather than the way the couple wants it. That’s just wrong! Yes, I will tell you if I think you’re making a mistake, but in the end it’s YOUR decision.
